Bill was born in Tacoma on November 10, 1946. He passed away in Hua Nghia, S. Vietnam at the age of 22 on February 21, 1969, in a non-hostile helicopter crash near the Go De Hau Bridge because of pitch change link failure, and the M/R came through the cockpit which severed the tailboom at 1000'.

He attended Spalding Grade School, Chief Jo Junior High School and graduated with the Class of 1965 from Richland's Columbia High School.

Bill served in the U. S. Army from 1966 to 1969 and was awarded an Air Medal. His last rank was Specialist 4 in the Transportation Corp as a 67A-Aircraft Maintenance Apprentice. His primary unit was the 1968-1969, 67A, 269th Aviation Battalion.

He is survived by his parents, John and Mary of Tacoma; and twin sisters: Mrs. William (Joy) Scott Campbell and Mrs. Ron (JoAnn) Blackburn of Tacoma.

Mountain View Funeral Home handled the arrangements, and he was buried at Mountain View Memorial Park in Lakewood, WA.
