John Ruppert

John graduated from Richland's Columbia High School in 1965. He continued his education at Washington State University, graduating in 1969 and at University of Chicago Law School, graduating in 1973. He served in the Army National Guard of Illinois and as a reserve of the U. S. Army. He was a proud member of the Men's Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.

He married Cynthia Meiners in 1970 in Pullman, and they had two children. His daughter, Melissa, was born in 1975 when the family lived in Naperville, IL. Two years later, the family relocated to Portland, OR and his son, Charles, was born in 1977.

John created fond memories on the baseball field when he coached his son's team in Mount Hood Little League where he served on the board as treasurer. He was a member of the Oregon State Bar and practiced law for many years in Portland, OR.

In 2005, John married Janice Huff in Tucson, AZ. Together, they cared for their pet dog, Callie, with whom they held many cherished moments.

John is being interred with his late wife, Janice Huff Ruppert, and next to his parents, Herman and Betty Ruppert.

He is survived by his sister, Jolene Ruppert Massey ('67), and her husband, Steve Massey; his daughter, Melissa Van Hooser; son-in-law Adrian Van Hooser; his son, Charles Ruppert; daughter-in-law, Laura Jeanne Ruppert; and his grandchildren, Kathryn Van Hooser and Austin Ruppert.
