Jim passed away May 25, 2010 at his home with family by his side after a battle with brain cancer. He was born to Jack and Ruth Pahl on June l7, 1947 in Cincinnati, OH. The family moved to West Richland in 1948 where Jim grew up.

He attended Christ the King School, Carmichael Junior High School and graduated with the Class of 1965 from Richland's Columbia High School and attended Columbia Basin College. He was married to Sharon Byrne in St. Patrick’s Church in Pasco on March 23, 1968. He was a proud veteran of both the United States Marine Corps and the Air Force Reserves.

Jim was a licensed Professional Land Surveyor, active member of the Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed books and music of all kinds and was a collector of many hobbies.

He is survived by his parents, Jack and Ruth Pahl of Richland; his wife, Sharon; and daughters: Christina (Frank) Moreno, Tami (Steve) Grammer and Erin (Bill) Lantz. He also leaves behind his sister, Janet (Bill) Dickinson; seven grandchildren; one great–granddaughter; numerous nieces; nephews and other family members.

Jim was a man of Honor, Faith and Family; a Hero to many and loved by all.

If memorials are desired, the family suggests donations be made to his favorite charities, the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation and to the Special Olympics.
