LEONA "MARI" ECKERT ~ Class of 1965

Leona "Mari" Eckert was born January 21, 1947, to Andrew and Vada Eckert. Mari passed away on April 21, 2020.

Her family was part of the large worker migration to Hanford in the 1940's to assist with the WWII effort.

She attended Christ the King School, Chief Jo Junior High School and Richland's Columbia High School with the Class of 1965. Following high school she attended Columbia Basin College.

Her siblings are: Joan Eckert Sullens ('51), Andrew Eckert ^Jr ('53), Virginia "Jinnie" Eckert Stephens ('58RIP), Bob Eckert ('60), Rita Eckert Small ('61), Don Eckert ('64), Patti Eckert Weyers ('68), Jean Eckert Imholte ('72) and Chris Eckert.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Vada Eckert, on July 1, 2007; by her father, Andrew Eckert, on January 3, 1999; by her brother, John Eckert, who was born September 15, 1952, in Richland and died the same day; and by her sister, Virginia "Jinnie" Eckert Stephens ('58) on January 20, 2016.
