Larry Lee Dean, age 61, of Richland died Monday, March 12, 2007 at his home.

He was born in Richland on September 23, 1945 to John W. Sr and Thada Dean. He married Linda Lee Robinson on September 23, 1967 in El Paso Robles, CA.

Larry was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was a very caring person and enjoyed life to the fullest.

He was a 1965 Columbia High School graduate and was a contributor to the Alumni Sandstorm newsletters. He worked at the Hanford Site for over 30 years. He was the owner/operator (in his spare-time) at C & D Excavating and the Sun tannery in Kennewick.

Larry served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1969 from the U. S. Army. He was devoted to his country and his community

He enjoyed going hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and sitting around a camp fire with family and friends. He also loved his annual hunting trips with just the guys, BBQ's anytime someone was around, working on old and new cars, working with wood, building things, and every Saturday at the Farmer’s Market.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Chris Elliott of Kennewick; mother-in-law, Betty Robinson of Richland; brother-in-law, Kenneth Robinson of Richland; three brothers: John W. Dean (Lucy) of Hawaii, Jerry H. Dean ('53) of Kennewick; and Carl W. Dean ('64) (Marcia) of Benton City; six sisters: Anna Dean Simmons ('45 honorary), Alice Dean Durham ('48 honorary), Connie Dean O’Neil ('60) (Jerry) and Ginger Dean Kidder ('66) (Ron) (all of Richland), Ruth Dean Timpke ('55 honorary), and Debbi Dean Brown (Terry) of Ephrata; numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, James E. K. Robinson; and four brothers: Don Dean ('51), James Mitchell Dean (August 24, 1937 - January 29, 1938), Bennett Jerome "Benny" Dean ('59 honorary) who passed away on August 7, 1988 and Bob Dean Sr ('66 honorary).

Visitation was from 5pm-8pm on Friday, March 16, 2007. Funeral Services were held at 11am on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Einan's Funeral Home. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
