Susie Tucksen, 59, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 in Weston, OR after a long battle with cancer. She was where she wanted to be in the cabin she called home in the Blue Mountains.

She was born on May 6, 1946 in Richland to Roy and Laura (Melrose) Butler. She was a member of the Class of 1965 at Richland's Columbia High School.

Susie spent most of her working career in the Hanford area. She married the love of her life, Sonny Tucksen, on July 19, 1981 in West Richland. They resided in Benton City until Sonny's retirement when they moved to the beautiful cabin on the mountain where they both lived out their lives.

Susie loved to feed the animals and watch them from her dining room window. She loved to snowmobile and watch the snow fall. Susie was a beautiful artist and had painted many wonderful pictures. She also loved to make candles.

She was a member of the Trail Finders Snowmobile Club in Tollgate, OR. She helped organize different events the club held, but enjoyed the Special Olympics the most.

Susie is survived by her daughter, Dawna (Gary) Castle of Duvall, WA; daughter, Denise (Jason) Sullivan of Norfolk, NB; son, Josh (Sarah) Housley of Seattle; stepson, Greg (Loretta) Tucksen of Kennewick; sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by very close friends: Pauline and Duane Weise of Union, OR; Shanon and Tom Smith of Richland; and Curt Godwin ('65) of Farmersville, TX.

Susie is preceded in death by her husband, Alva J. "Sonny" Tucksen, who passed away February 19, 2005; by her parents; and by her brother, Bill Butler ('50), who passed way January 30, 2006.

At Susie's request there were no services.
