John Burnett, 64, of Richland passed away Monday, November 8, 2010 at Kadlec Medical Center. He was born May 1, 1946 in Harrison, Arkansas to Roger and Stella Burnett. He moved to Richland in 1948 with his parents and two brothers.

John attended school with the Class of 1964 but actually graduated with the Class of 1965 from Richland's Columbia High School.

He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1967-1971, serving in Vietnam from 1969-1970. After returning from Vietnam, he started working for Hanford from where he would retire in 2009.

John was an active member of the Temple Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and spending time with his son, grandson and two brothers.

He is survived by son, Robert (Amber) Burnett, of Sidney, NE; his ex-wife, Diann Davis Strassburger ('65); his two brothers, James Burnett and David Burnett ('62), both of Richland; and one grandson, Wyatt Burnett, also of Sidney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Stella.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Einan's Funeral Home in Richland. Graveside services followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
