Michael Joseph Bott, 58, of West Richland died November 27, 2005 surrounded by his loved ones at Hospice at the Chaplaincy after a long illness.

Mike was born in Richland on July 7, 1947, the seventh child of Walt and Jane Bott.

He attended Christ the King School, Chief Jo Junior High School and graduated with the Class of 1965 from Richland's Columbia High School. He then graduated from Central Washington University with a degree in Business.

Mike served in the U. S. Army from January 1968 to December 1969 and was awarded the Bronze Star for service in the Vietnam War.

He was an avid golfer, an animal lover and (above all) a family man. His bravery, sense of humor, brilliance and kindness enriched the lives of all those who were lucky enough to know him.

Mike is survived by his mother, Jane Bott; his daughter, Mandy Bott ('96); Mandy's mother, Jo Conrad Bott ('65); his sisters: Barbara Druffel, JoAnn Bott-Pooler, Kathleen "Pete" Bartholomew ('57 honorary) (Dale), Peggy Bott Panisko ('59) (Frank) and Nancy Bott ('64 honorary); his brothers: Jim Bott and Pat Bott ('68); as well as many nieces and nephews; along with his "Heart and Soul", Cathy.

Funeral services were held at 2pm on Thursday, December 1, 2005 at Christ the King Church in Richland followed by a gathering of family and friends at the West Richland Golf Course.
