Ronald Earl "Ron"/"Ronnie" Bloom was born in Richland on March 1, 1947, to Earl and Ethel Selman Bloom.

Ron passed away at the age of 62 on April 18, 2009, and is buried in the Fort Richardson National Cemetery in Fort Richardson, Alaska.

He attended school with the Class of 1965 at Richland's Columbia High School.

Ron enlisted in the U. S. Army on March 31, 1964, and was discharged on September 11, 1970. He served in Vietnam as a SSG earning the Bronze Star.

Ron married Cheri Burnside of Republic, Ferry County, WA on June 19, 1970. They were divorced August 25, 1977. To this union, one child was born. He married Wanda J. Hoffman of Republic, Ferry County, WA on July 1, 1978. They were later divorced. Ron married Deborah Jeanne Odom Mars ('70) of Republic, Ferry County, WA on February 14, 1987.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah; his four children: Meagan, Jessie, Jeremy and Jim; and his two sisters, DeVearl Bloom Brown ('51 honorary) of Spokane and Connie Bloom Cameron ('58) of Bellevue.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents.

NOTE:

His wife, Deborah ('70), passed away May 26, 2016.

His sister, DeVearl, passed away May 27, 2019.
